Sydney AUS: 3 May 2011 – Mint Wireless Limited (ASX: MNW) (“Mint Wireless”) has signed its first customer in Europe, Dubarry of Ireland (“Dubarry”), who will utilise the recently accredited Mint Managed Payment Service for payment acceptance outside of their traditional retail environment. Working with its business partner, IT Providers, Mint Wireless will provide the payments functionality and Managed Payment Service for Dubarry, while IT Providers will supply Motorola mobile computing devices, point of sale application and Motorola credit card and debite card readers. The combined mobile solution works seamlessly together, meaning Dubarry sales staff will be able to use their exisiting point of sale application on Motorola mobile devices and process live credit or debit card transaction, which the Mint Enterprise software controls and routes through to the Mint Managed Payment Service for real-time Authorisation and Settlement at the end of the day.
Mint Wireless’ mobile payment solution was selected by Dubarry due to the ability to process real-time card transactions at the any outdoor retailing events in UK and Ireland, while having the transactions seamlessly integrated with their existing point of sale application. This will reduce Dubarry’s inefficiencies, fraud risk and significantly improve the experience for their customer, which is vital when retailing such highly priced items.
Michael Walsh, Marketing Director at Dubarry of Ireland comments: “Adding EMV chip and PIN payment functionality to our exisiting Motorola mobile devices and business application is ideal for us. It means we have to do minimal training with our staff and it will contribute to enhancing the overall sales experience for our valued customers, as chip and PIN is what is expected from cardholders in the UK and Ireland, whether you are in a department store or at an outdoor event such as The Burghley or Badminton Horse Trials, the London Boat Show or Chelsea Flower Show.”
“The combined solution from Motorola, IT Providers and Mint Wireless works well for our unique sales model as it allows us to offer quality service whereever we may be and process payments in Euros and British Sterling”, Mr. Walsh concluded. Cameron Olsen, CEO Payment Solutions, Mint Wireless adds: “We are delighted to have the well respected brand of Dubarry of Ireland as our first customer in Europe. Their sales model is a prime example of how mobile payments can enhance an outside based business and we look forward to working with them. The term of our software license and transaction services contract is for three years, highlighting the importance of mobile payments to Dubarry’s outside retailing strategy.”
“Since successfully completing the accreditation of the Mint Managed Payment Service with WorldPay, Mint Wireless is very focused on rolling out its mobile payment solution to new customers in Australia and the United Kingdom”, Mr. Olsen concluded.
